German B2 Course
German Level B2: Upper-Intermediate German (Professional Working Proficiency)
The German B2 Course at PLTC is designed for students and professionals who require fluent, professional German for academic and career advancement.
"B2 is the mandatory qualification for foreign nurses, medical doctors, and engineers registering with German professional licensing bodies, as well as the prerequisite for direct entry into German-taught university degrees."
During this 3-month comprehensive course, you move away from textbook phrasing into advanced professional vocabulary. You will learn to understand complex texts on concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in your field of specialization.
Core curriculum objectives include:
- Spontaneous Fluency: Interacting with native German speakers with sufficient fluency and spontaneity without strain for either party.
- Technical and Professional Texts: Reading specialized articles, business contracts, and academic discourse.
- Advanced Written Rhetoric: Producing clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explaining a viewpoint on a topical issue giving advantages and disadvantages.
Available on-campus in Lahore and live online across Pakistan.

Syllabus
Module 1 — Professional Communication & Business German
- Workplace terminology, company structures, and professional negotiations
- Formal presentations, moderation, and structured business meeting dialogue
- Two-part connectors (sowohl...als auch, weder...noch, nicht nur...sondern auch)
Module 2 — Advanced Syntax & Subjunctive Voice
- Advanced Konjunktiv II for past hypothetical situations (hätte gemacht, wäre gewesen)
- Indirect speech and reporting with Konjunktiv I
- Extended participle constructions (Partizip I and Partizip II as adjectives)
Module 3 — Science, Technology & Environment
- Reading and analyzing technical reports, scientific news, and journals
- Noun-verb combinations (Nomen-Verb-Verbindungen: zur Verfügung stehen, in Betracht ziehen)
- Passive voice alternatives (sein + zu + Infinitiv, -bar, -lich suffixes)
Module 4 — Argumentative Writing & Synthesis
- Writing structured argumentative essays evaluating multiple viewpoints
- Formal business correspondence, official complaints, and dispute resolution
- Advanced text cohesion: using transition markers to structure complex paragraphs
Module 5 — B2 Exam Preparation (Goethe / telc)
- Section-by-section training for Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking
- Practice with past examination papers under timed testing constraints
- Paired discussion and debate simulations evaluated against official scoring rubrics
